The Coastal and Ocean Dynamic (COD) group was established in 2008 to complement the various research groups that form CIIMAR . The research undertaken is mostly in physical oceanography and coastal engineering with the aim to contribute towards:
- Large-scale and long-term oceanographic processes research
- The study of the mesoscale processes, particularly around small islands, seamounts and archipelagos
- Producing high quality scientific products available for operational (oceanographic) use
- Coastal monitoring
The group is composed by research members of several institutions from CIIMAR, from the University of Porto and from University of Algarve. Institutional logos are represented below.
